Chef Rodrigo was born and raised in León, Spain. Growing up, his father was his first mentor in the kitchen, learning about the love and passion for food. Living in the country, made him appreciate the values of fresh ingredients. His mother cultivated a lot of different vegetables so "The Garden was the Market".
Knowing that he had found his calling, Rodrigo joined the Culinary school getting his degree while he worked in a family restaurant in the Costa Brava. He majored in Catering Management, opening the doors to El Bulli, 3 Michelin Star restaurant, awarded as the best in the world at that time. Soon after that, the Chef traveled around the country gaining knowledge and experience, from small restaurants in the north to beautiful hotels in the south, Chef Rodrigo didn't stop learning the secrets of the Mediterranean cuisine.
After time, Rodrigo came back to his hometown where he became a mentor to the new generations, following his dad's steps.
A new opportunity in Barcelona was presented to the Chef and once again, he packed his knives and crossed the country to start another chapter.
His trajectory brought him to the United States becoming a successful Executive Chef in the Bay Area. From working in a Spanish restaurant to joining the team at The Culinary Institute of America, Rodrigo has adapted mediterranean cuisine into the California life style.
